A 1988 924s, the last year for this model and the most desirable. It has almost 42,000 miles on it and is driven. I just don't believe in having a pure "garage queen" and not driving it. I have had the car three years. The paint is all original, except for the hood - at least i would guess it has been repainted, although it was a very good job. I know not of the history of if or when it was repainted or why. So technically, i am the third owner. I have the original invoice. When i bought it, it had 38k miles on it. The first week or so that i had it, i had the car completely gone through by porsche specialists with the direction to replace all belts (the timing belt and idlers, especially!), all hoses, and all fluids. And if anything needed replacing to do so. I have all receipts from the time that i have owned the car. I understand that before my ownership, the car was always garaged - and it has been since i have owned it. Actually only been in the rain perhaps three times. The spare tire and jack appear to have never been on the ground. It has all the tools (never used), all manuals, cover for the removable sun roof, plastic gloves for changing the tire (provided by porsche with the new car), plastic sheets to wrap the "dirty" tire when changing a flat, the original porsche air compressor to inflate the spare, and the original porsche car cover and floor mats. I even have the original spark plugs and wires (from when i replaced them) and the original rotors and rubber brake lines when i replaced both. The latter with stainless steel lines. The original radio has been replaced with an aftermarket one. I also have available two extra sets of rims - one set is the 7" front and 8" rear wide rims. There is no rust. Additional info as follows: from: , by glen smale (a uk publication): ". The 924 s in 1988, production was 4,079 (worldwide)." it also states on page 70, "many regard the 924 s as the best 924 model as it featured the larger 2479cc engine, as fitted to the 944, but was installed in the 50mm (2 in) narrower 924 body. The s also benefited from the 944's brakes and suspension, which included cast aluminum components. The engine, often referred to as the "balancer engine" because it featured twin counter-balancing shafts., was detuned to produce 150 hp , but was later upgraded to produce 160 bhp for the 1987 model year. (this was also carried over for the 1988 model) with the arrival of first the 944 turbo and 928 s, and then the 924 s, porsche sought to introduce all models to the european and american markets at the same time, with all models benefiting from the same power and performance simultaneously. I believe the 1988 model is the most preferred." the 924s is essentially a 944 with the more narrow and lighter 924 body. This is not the vw/audi produced version of the 924. This one was built by porsche. This is an extremely well sorted car! I would drive it anywhere with confidence. Oil / filter changed and car inspected jan 25,2018.

Since I have owned it, this Porsche was always garaged, and only driven in nice weather on back, lonely roads, and never in excessive heat or cold; much time, elbow grease and sweat was put into exterior, with many Meguiar's products. Timing belt was also changed as precaution in March 2010, along with valve job by A-Cars, Inc., pri. Car has been in Virginia Beach area its entire life, never experiencing road salt or poor winter road conditions
